Information we collect

Contact requests

When you contact a business through TruePage, we collect the information you provide, such as your name, email address, optional phone number, optional requested service, optional service town, and message. We also record the TruePage and web address from which the request was submitted.

Please do not include Social Security numbers, financial account or payment-card information, government identification numbers, medical information, or other sensitive information in a contact request.

Business information

We may collect factual information about businesses from public or otherwise permitted sources, from business representatives, and from service providers that help us prepare or maintain TruePages.

Profile and account information

When you create or manage a TruePage, we collect the profile details you submit, such as the represented person, business, or organization; role or type; public location; services or focus areas; optional public phone number; and links. We also collect a private account email used for sign-in, approval notices, security, and profile administration. The account email is not displayed on the public profile.

Saved pages

Pages you save without signing in are stored in this browser and can be lost if you clear browser data. If you add your email, we temporarily hold that list with your verification link for up to 20 minutes, then keep it privately in your account after verification so you can access it on other devices. Saved lists are not public or shared with profile owners. You can remove individual saves or delete your account in Settings. Unverified lists are removed after their link expires during subsequent verification requests.

When you save a page, TruePage records an aggregate save count for its owner. A random identifier stored in your browser helps avoid counting repeat saves. We connect that count when you move saves into a verified account. Page owners see only totals, never your email, identity, or saved list. Totals can include separate browsers that haven’t been connected to an account. Removing a bookmark does not undo the earlier save event; aggregate save counts may remain after account deletion.

Business contact information may include an email address used privately to deliver customer requests. TruePage does not display a business delivery email publicly unless an authorized business representative chooses to make it public.

Usage and anti-abuse information

We use Vercel Analytics and first-party profile counts to understand page visits and contact-funnel activity. This may include pages viewed, referral source, general location, device, browser, operating system, and events such as opening or submitting a contact form. We do not put contact-request content or customer contact details into analytics events.

We also use Google Analytics 4 to measure visits, signup and publication activity, sharing, and contact requests. It uses first-party cookies to distinguish browsers, with a 30-day expiration in our configuration. Google processes technical information such as browser, device, general location, and usage events. We do not send private account details, email addresses, form contents, verification tokens, or private page addresses to Google Analytics. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled in our tag.

Google Analytics receives public profile page addresses, including their public handles, so we can measure which profiles are visited. URL query parameters and fragments are excluded.

For visits identified as coming from the United States, Google Analytics may run without an acceptance prompt, subject to your browser preferences. For visits identified as outside the United States, or when the country cannot be determined, we ask for your permission before loading Google Analytics or using its cookies. Declining does not restrict browsing or access to public profiles. We remember an analytics choice, notice version, and timestamp in this browser; permission expires after 180 days and you can withdraw it sooner. An explicit opt-out stays in effect until you change it. You can change your choice using the control in Your choices below. We also respect browser Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals. When you follow a TruePage invitation, a first-party cookie remembers the inviting profile for up to 30 days. We use it to understand whether invitations lead to new accounts and profiles. We do not share your account email or other private details with the person who invited you.

We use Cloudflare Turnstile on public forms that can create records, request page changes, or trigger messages, including contact, claim, correction, removal, and page-creation forms. Cloudflare may process technical information about the request, browser, device, and network as necessary to provide that security check.

How we use information

• Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve TruePage.
• Receive, review, and deliver contact requests.
• Respond to questions, corrections, removals, and privacy requests.
• Understand traffic and whether TruePages are useful.
• Prevent spam, fraud, misuse, and security incidents.
• Comply with applicable law and protect legal rights.

How we share information

When you submit a live contact request, you direct TruePage to store it for the business whose page you selected. Depending on the business's current lead access, TruePage may deliver your contact details immediately or first show the business a non-identifying preview of the service, general location, date, and sanitized message. TruePage does not represent a held request as delivered. A submission does not guarantee delivery, a response, or service.

We also use service providers to host TruePage, store data, deliver operational email, protect forms from automated abuse, and measure website use. Current providers include Vercel, Supabase, Resend, Cloudflare, and Google (for eligible U.S. visits and international visits with analytics permission). They process information for us under their applicable terms and safeguards.

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate misuse, or support a merger, financing, acquisition, or transfer of all or part of the service. We do not sell contact-request contact information.

Retention

During the pilot, we retain contact requests for up to 12 months after submission and then delete or de-identify them, unless a longer period is reasonably needed to complete an active request, prevent abuse, resolve a dispute, or comply with law. We may retain support, correction, removal, and privacy correspondence for up to 24 months. Aggregated or de-identified information may be retained longer.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Access to stored contact requests is restricted, and customer contact information is not exposed through public TruePages or analytics events.

Your choices

When Google Analytics is available for your visit, this optional control lets you turn it off or back on in this browser. Turning it on grants permission to use Google Analytics cookies. Turning it off stops Google Analytics collection and removes its first-party analytics cookies. This changes tracking preferences only and does not give access to analytics reports.

You may ask to access, correct, or delete information you submitted to TruePage. A business owner or authorized representative may also ask us to correct or remove a business page or stop receiving customer requests. Email support@truepage.co. We may need information to verify your identity or authority before acting.

Children

TruePage is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us so we can review and remove it.

Changes and contact
